Default back pressure/exhaust question

hi, first off I have a 2005 standard cab sb with a 5.7 hemi. upgrades have been aem brute force intake, superchips on 91 tune, pacesetter long tube header/ y pipe combo, flexalite electric fan, 4.10 gears, electric cutout, caltrac traction bars and lowered 2/4. ive been hearing a lot about backpressure. I really need advice on what would be the best exhaust set up for performance with the needed backpressure. currently from the cutout back I have 3" single in/out magnaflow 14" muffler then a small extension with a turndown before the axle. truck runs good but I feel like im losing something esp with cutout open. any advice please and thank you.

Unless you're running serious H.P. 2 1/2 is plenty. Your loosing low end torque with the cutout open.

So would it help if I ran a new muffler 3" in and 2 1/2 out?? How far back would You pipe it? Would it benefit having a dual outlet muffler? Thanks.

do you still have your cats? With LT headers you need a little backpressure to maintain that low end torque. If you've deleted them, adding them back in seems to solve that issue for the most part. If you've still got em, reducing your pipe diameter could potentially help, I wouldn't think duel outlet would help much if you're low on backpressure.

No I dont have the cats and with the ypipe that came with the lt's, nearly impossible to get them back under there. Im just trying to figure out if a muffler, 3" in 2 1/2 out would help me? And how far back to run the exhaust pipe. Thanks. Also thinking about flowmaster 40 or thrush for the deepest sound.

Ditto on the magna flows. I had flow master, one of the baffles broke. Much better sound from the magna flow. PM weed, his truck has what you want to do. He can give you more in site.
