2006 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7 Hemi "lazy" performance...
Hey all, my GF's 2006 Ram 1500 QC 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi recently started to feel really "lazy" at higher RPM and/or when deeper in the throttle. The only recent change was a spark plug change (all 16) and trans fluid/filter change. It doesn't seem to be a trans issue as it shifts just fine (albeit a bit slow/soft but it's always been that way, no tuning in the truck yet) and the RPMs don't spike or anything like it's slipping or blowing through the converter or shifts. There is no noticeable misfiring or anything like that. No check engine light on, nor has it been on anytime recently at all.
So far I'm leaning towards maybe clogged up cats? But it seems like it'd be setting a code or something if that was the case. Also it seems odd that it just started after the plug change. Maybe the plugs were wrong or the gaps were set wrong? But yet again I'd think we'd be getting a misfire code or something.
Is there anything common I should check? The truck does have just over 100k miles but has been really well maintained and was running very strong until just recently. Under normal driving/light throttle it's still very smooth and feels just as strong as always, it only feels lazy when you're on it.
