Hi!

Where is the different in the fuel pumps for Diesel and Gas? Or fits a fuelpump from a diesel in my "Gas-Ram"?

Thanks!!

Diesel is way higher pressure.
Won't work in a gas truck.
A gas pump will work in your Ram.

But, I may be off. Maybe the gas pump supplies a higher pressure pump for diesel and the in tank pumps are the same in your specific unknown year of Ram.

Rereading this. Why do you want a diesel pump in your gas truck anyways? Very curious.

thanks for your answers!

my RAM is a 5.7HEMI from 2003/04.

Its possible that the sender unit from the fuel pump is out of order and now i can get a new fuel pump for a diesel for very small money
that is the reason why i ask...

I'm not sure about design fitment, but the seals and o-rings are a different compound for gasoline to resist deterioration.

The Diesel pump WILL NOT work for your Truck... They are completely different... and even operate differently.

Buy the right part!

Yup, if you look up the numbers for the gas pump, or the diesel lift pump, they are different, the diesel has a second high pressure pump on the engine for the injectors

long story short, NO the diesel in tank pump will not work in the gas truck

just to clear up the info...the in tank pump for the diesel is actually much lower psi than the gas pump, the diesel pump is roughly 15 psi, the gas pump is about 60 psi,
the seals and lines are all compatable, (i have two converted trucks) and actually use a gas in tank pump for one of them, hope this helps
