AC Fitting tools?
This winter my heater core started leaking. In the spring, it was a fairly bad smell for the first few minutes of heat. I let go a little longer for nicer weather to sit out side all day and remove the dash. Now I'm gearing up for it, I figured I'd replace the AC drier since I have to have the refrigerant evacuated anyways. Looking at the part, it seems like the fittings are similar to fuel line, but not quite. Are these specialty tools, or will a fuel line disconnect kit cover it? I've never really done anything with AC, so I just want to be sure I have my ducks in a row.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Yeah they are the same as far as a kit goes auto zone has a fuel line a/c line kit that comes with 4 sizes iv got one of them myself they work ok for a once and a while fix but if you plan on doing anything heavy with them I would find the good round a/c clamp on type are made In two halfs and are spring loaded opening just open slide on then slide up into fitting to release spring auto zone kit comes with two fuel and 2 a/c
The last issue I'm having with this is that the service manual says to replace the o rings and lube them with clean refrigerant oil. I can't find anything less than a complete AC system gasket kit. I've bought a new drier, so I really only need two little o rings for the output side. The second part is that I can't seem to get R134a oil, without it coming in a can of R134a.
Any ideas on what I can do about the o rings or oil? I'm going to call the shop that's going to do the AC discharge to see if they can lube and connect the fittings for me withing charging for a separate job and if they have the o rings. I would just feel better if I could deliver the truck back to them with the system completely assembled.
