4x4 dash idiot light question
OK I have a question, have an 06 2500, hemi, auto 4x4
just had a new trans installed
and today went to put truck into 4x4 to pull out a tree stump
and the idiot light on my dash doesn't come on?
it worked prior to the trans install
shop said to bring it in , but there like 80 mile round trip, can anyone tell me where the plug is at so I can see if they just didn't plug it back in, I believe its on the transfer case, but not 100 %
I have a bad back, so crawling under things isn't easy for me, so want to know where exactly to look before crawling under ii If I can, I am not the best MR fix it!
any help would be very much appreciated, and a pic would be even better LOL
Thanks

Do you have a electric transfer case or manual selector? On my manual 4x4 the linkage is on the drivers side just above the front driveshaft. The sensor plugs in just above the linkage. If you have manual you would probably feel if it was attached or not. The sensor connector may not be attached. On an electric transfer case the selector motor is by the front driveshaft.

it stopped working last yr or so, and dealer installed a new ?? Forget
and worked fine till this new trans was installed
i will look and see if i see any connections not tight on wires tomorrow
hoping its just not plugged in all the way or simple like that
no big deal , just like to have it working, as i use 4x4 a lot in winter time, and that dumb light at times reminds me to take it out when i hit paved roads again

OK all connections are tight and solid
talked to a friend that works on rucks, he said for me to bring it over to him to look at
he removed the witch(bolts to T case) said it was BAD
$ dodge dealer had a new one in stock( $45.00) he installed it and all is good
so guess it just went bad??
funny as first one lasted over 7 yrs, then second one only a yr, so, hoping this one lasts longer LOL
but its fixed now! Thanks for all the advice/suggestions/Help
