Angry Greaseable ball joint help.

So as you all know the OEM upper ball joints are NOT greaseable.

My front suspension is so squeaky it annoys the crap outta me. I went down to autozone today to see what they had, but nothing that was greasable. If possible I'd rather fork over a few extra dollars now and be able to grease them instead of being where I am right now.

I have seen you guys with greaseable ball joints. Is this a DIY project or do you guys order these somewhere online? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Yes you can buy them that way. But you can also just drill a hole, tap threads and put your own fitting in for next to nothing.

i put greasable upper ball joints in my truck, aswell as greasble sway bar links and tie rods, my truck is a 07 1500 and the upper part number from moog is K80628 both sides are the same, some say they have had trouble pressing out the upper but myn came out no problem with a ball joint press.

Zerk fittings are self-tapping. Drill a hole and install.

I personally would replace with a ball joint that is designed to accept grease. The seals will be designed with a weep location for when you fill them, so that you don't break the seal of the joint and allow contaminants in (sealed joints have sealed boots, so when you pump grease in them, the air and grease the new grease displaces has to go somewhere, and it ends up breaking the seal of the boot). Also the joint will be designed to better disperse the grease you're adding into the joint, and you don't run the risk of getting shavings in the joint from drilling & tapping.

I got my greaseable joints from NAPA. You can also order them from Rock Auto. If you are adding zerks to brand new sealed joints you will be voiding the warranty on them. If you want grease zerks buy the joint with them, either Moog's, NAPA Premium's, or any other brand that has greaseable ball joints.

Thank you guys, I am probably going to buy them with zircs already installed since they are designed that way.
