No offense dude, but if you bought your V6 for racing purposes, you are right, you are wasting your time and money. I bought mine because I wanted to save gas and have a truck for utilities. It works fine now that the hurricane left a bunch of crap all around the house. Yes its true, I get 18-19 mpg driving moderately, shifting at 2500RPM and keeping it below 3000. I dont think I'll ever see the 21 mpg they say at HWY. If I have to do it again, I would get a V8 4.7, not the HEMI. But let me tell you, if you are thinking about racing the V8 4.7 or 5.7 you are still not going to get good gas mileage. I for one would not want to void the warranty. Either trade yours in for a 4.7 or be happy with what you have. I accepted my 3.7, I am happy with it. I dont haul heavy stuff all the time and I did not buy it to beat Hemis or other trucks, or to peel out. For that I buy a $12,000 ricer and spend $5,000 in mods or buy a camaro, firebird or mustang. Those will beat a Hemi anytime with little or no mods.

PS- Keep the warranty and have the dealer install higher gears and a CAI. It will be $2-3000, but you have warranty and still keep up with a 4.7.

Yeah you are right, I also didnt buy it to race, and you are right about the ricers, i definetly dont want o race any and suffer the humility, what i bought it for was the mpg, and for a v6 to have that good of a gas mileage with 215 hp amazed me, thats the reason i chose it over the 4.7, plus i paid about 18 for mine. So again your right, i definetly should be happy with it, I just cant help trying to make it better, reason is realLy because im on house arrest for another year and JUST DONT HAVE ANYTHING ELSE TO DO. Now that i have bored you with my bla bla bla ( bull****) How are those locks working out for u, I would also lke to do the same, any help would be greatly appreciated thanx

4.7 here.
my 0-60 is around 9 secs. Give or take some any given day.

I can run the 1/8th in mid 10's around 64-66 mph.

1 i don't belong here and this is my last post to any topic
2the HEMI gets the same gas mileage as the 4.7... WHY not get an extra 100hp for the same gas mileage? that's what the great thing is about the hemi. Why buy a 4.7l, only to be unsatisfied, spending 1000's ofdollars on mods to try to make it as strong as the hemi whenyou could have just took those few thousand dollars got the hemi in the first place? it just doesnt make any sense... and you willbe decreasing thelife of your motor with all thosemods..

me? I have a 4.7,i could have bought a hemi, but when i went to the closest dealerships nobody had an '05model except one dealership...andit was a freaking 4.7l i was so disappointed... so here i am, a disappointed customer.

3 if you want a truck for utilities, power is whatyou want. you don't want a truck thatcan barely pull itself. take it from me, a (once again i repeat) a disappointed customer. I'vedone so many mods and i can barely pull 283hp.(((

oh yea and it wasn't even the colori liked! it was my least favorite...almond!! and not even any power anything? it was all a stripped down QC.

Last thing: why didn't i get an '06? cus i didn't like their looks. Ill get used to it eventually and after i get out of 4 more years college (if srt10 rams are still in production) hopefully I'll get me an SRT10.

PLEASE CHRYSLER!!PLEASE DON'T DISCONTINUE THEM FOR ANY REASON THAT MAY OCCUR WHATSOEVER! I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO SETTLE BUYING A USED ONE THAT SOMEONE ALREADY LEFT THEIR FART STENCH IN!
