Question Lamp Out causing a CEL?

Did some searching but I couldn't come up with anything...

Yesterday while driving during the day, my dash chimed with Lamp Out then went out. Came on again while giving it a bit of gas. My lights were off. Further up the road the check engine light came on.

Got home and went to head out again about 30 minutes later. Check engine was still on yet no Lamp Out. Later that night after work I drove to a friends house. No Lamp Out yet still the CEL. About an hour later while driving the Lamp Out lit up and chimed a few times but would go out when I tapped the brakes.

I'm figuring it has to be brake lights and maybe one of the dual filaments is bad? I tried the key trick to get the CEL light (which is out now) but i've never been able to get the key trick to work on my truck

Anybody ever have or hear of anything like that before? I've never had a problem with that before. No strange weather or odd conditions. Perfectly normal day...

EDIT: I also did the gauge test and it showed codes B7 and B8 which brings up nothing that I can find...

If the brake lamp switch (on the pedal) is messed up, it will set a CEL and probably an ABS code.

Alrighty I'll probably look into replacing that too. The CEL stopped but the lamp out stayed. Had someone tell me my left brake light is out. No biggy. As of today... No more lamp out yet the bulb is still burnt. Thinking it may be the actual tail socket? Luckily it's only 20ish bucks.

Yep, the brake lamp output comes from the front control module. If you have some water in OR a messed up socket, it could conceivably interrupt the brake switch signal on the BUS.

Look at the wiring really good when you take the tail lamps out. If you have some trailer wiring pay attention to how that's routed too.
