07.5 2500 interior/exterior lights pulsing
Hi, I'm hoping somebody can help me with this problem. I have been searching for a solution to this problem but I am not having any luck. My 07.5 2500, fully delete with XRT Pro is having electrical issues.
The interior/exterior lights will start to pulse at random or when the slightest change in voltage occurs. This could be as simple as changing from low to high beam, stepping on the brake, using a turn signal, or putting a window down/up. Sometimes I'm just driving and they begin to pulse. Also, when the pulsing is taking place, the motor will lope. Sounds like I have a lope tune on the truck. I have cleaned and re-cleaned my battery connections. Batteries are a year old, Interstates. I have checked all the grounds i can find and they are all tight and clean.
Before anybody says it, the grid heater is not the problem. I am not talking about the voltage dropping and coming back up when I start the truck on a cold morning. This is a completely different issue as it has been going on all summer long.
Any help is greatly appreciated. This problem seems to be common on several forums but so far no definite answer. Everybody keeps blaming the grid heater lol.
Thanks for your time, Chris

An all over system electrical issue could be the battery/alternator or power/ground issue.
With the key on but engine not running, when you use something electrical, does it still do it? If so, it's not the alternator not putting out enough which leaves the power and ground issues.

With the key on but engine not running it does not do it. However, with the key on and truck not running if I put my windows up or down they move very slowly. I understand they wont move as fast as if the truck were running but i'm talking extremly slow. I need to get my batteries load tested. Yesterday and today with temps in the 20's and wind the truck barely turned over when i started it after work. I work an 8 hour shift. Shouldnt have any problems starting in those temps. It lugged enough starting that it tripped the check engine light and also that little red light with the lighting bolt. I forget what it's for. That light always goes off after the next start up and the CEL will clear itself to after a few start ups. So yea started the truck today to leave work, barely turned over, and started several times thru the evening and it started fine.
Yeah, definitely sounds like the battery is old. Winters are harsh on batteries as it is an assuming it is the one that came with the truck, that's 6-7 years old.
On the windows, you should take off the door skins and grease the tracks. Grease can get old and dry out. It will help the window motors.
