They SUCK!

Honestly, it all really depends on the style of rim, style/tread of the tire, and what kind of vehicle.

The Dodge Ram 20's are really in my opinion garbage. I however never owned one specifically so I can't tell you from experience. I have however owned a couple cars with 18-20" rims. The biggest factor is the style of tire. If you have a performance tire or street tire, chances are you will have a horrible time with the snow.

Adding weight is also a factor. Home Depot/Lowe's carry these tubes that are like 4ft. long and are filled with sand, invest in about 8 of em. They weigh 40-80lbs. That will really help your truck. My RC Dakota was horrible in the snow until I did that.

Honestly, I would try and pick up a set of cheapo 17's and slap either some all weather's or simple snow tires on em.

You might consoder getting 4 factory steels, painting them some color you like and mounting snow tires on those. The salt that gets put on the roads can really eat up rims after a few years. At least you'll have what you need in the winter, and your better 20's for spring, summer, fall use. Plus, the 17's shouldn't be as expensive either. Just a suggestion.

At the rate Rams are stolen, wrecked and junked,,,just hit several junk yards and get ahold of 4 of the steel 20 in spare rims.....That's what I'm doing. I found 4 steel spare rims at a junk yard for 200 bucks..

And yes the stock tires on the rams SUCK in the snow. This is my 4th Dodge truck,,,,,one dakota, three Rams. Everyone one of them had crap tires for snow,,,hell even wet pavement. I'm in the habit of engaging the 4wd at stop lights, then releasing after i'm moving.

I found the Cooper tires to be pretty good in the snow,,,and not a bizzilion bucks,,,,,The ATR and HT Plus come in 20 inch size for The ATR are like $160 the HT plus are around 140,,and there is one more that I can't think that is around 140

I just got new 22's with NITTO 305/45/22's, the 420s model. THey have a unique tread, I was wondering how they would be in the snow. Does anyone know?

if they are any sort of performance or even directional tire, then they will suck. this comes from experience, all directional and even performance tires i've owned have absolutly sucked in the snow. on my last ram i had the 17's and i bought a set of Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo's, best tire that i have ever owned for snow or mud. little on the pricey side, but they were excellent for me. as for this year since i now have my "baby", she's gettin garaged when i go back home, and bringin out the beast. hopefully she can make the drive back down here [sm=confused06.gif]
