Default knocking noise.

I've seen that this topic has been beat to death online but no solid answer. I bought an 06 megacab hemi for cheap money. Has a noise just like a loose rocker at 2500 rpm. No noise at idle at all. I'm assuming lifter issue. Motor is 220k. I have removed the heads and checked lifters hoping to see something obvious but nothing so far. Is there any chance I will see a visual issue with this non mds hemi

If you have the lifters out, check the roller bearings for play, that's usually the problem. Otherwise since you have at apart already you could toss a set of lifters in for good measure. But lifters are had to test other than the end bearings.

I hope this helps!!!! i have a 06 quad cab 2500 wIth 104 And it makes a noise what it sounded like lifters or jus plain without oil in it. It actually is the exhaust manifold that busted one of its bolts and it makes that noise until it gets hot and it stops. I was hoping i could get some tips on hoe to tackle that??

^the manifolds aren't really hard to do with the right told and patience, but getting the broken studs out is a major pain. I'd look for a mobile guy that does bolt extraction first, the bolts are stainless steel, not easy to get out.

I found a spun rod bearing. Now debating on a junk yard motor, rebuild mine with some goodies, or a crate engine
