Default Help! Electrical failure....

Need help with an electical failure.

Just attempted to start truck and experienced the following:
No power to door locks
Turn key on and only the tach reads out, needles dont move
No power to radio or heat/fan
Obviously doesnt crank
Noticable burning odor

Prior to parking and while driving I activated the 4wd, then my radar dectector shut off. I switched back to 2wd and then back to 4wd and the radar powered back on.

Checked:
Im getting 12.4v on battery.
Cleaned and tighetned terminals.
burning odor seems to come from fuse box
Pulled a few fuses and checked visualy the ends look slightly burnt on a few of them, tested with multi meter and all seem to be ok.
Tried jump starting and makes zero difference
After monkeying around, now power locks and dome light work. Ext lights dont flash upon key fob use.
Battery is good without a doubt.
Ideas?

Sounds like a bad ignition switch. Fairly common failure.

What can I expect to pay to replace it if it were the ignition switch?

I have my doubts if it's an ignition switch because I don't even have working head/tail lights.

Turned out needing a new TIPM. This corrected mostly everything, but the 4x4 service light also came on. That ended up needing to replace the 4x4 dif actuator motor. Im glad to say Im back to having a running truck, but it sure wasnt cheap!

It sounds like TIPM failure is a common issue with Dodges, too bad they dont stand behind it beyond warranty.

good to have it back up and running...

lots of things Dodge should have stood behind...

Rust for one. 7/70 and so on...

It appears they do not even make them anymore for the 03's.
