I have a 2006 4x4 dodge ram 2500 diesel , engine runs good , transmission is used , valve body been rebuilded . will only move about 10 feet forward or backward when it is placed in Forward 4-wheel drive. Can anyone help me.....thanks Jay.

So, how long you owned it? What do you mean by the transmission is "used"? A few details of the history would help tons. We cannot read minds.

have you checked for damaged/locked front or rear differential ?

 

it will not move in 1 first or 2nd gear., I bought the trany from a body shop where someone else bought the engine , I installed a billet triple disc torque converter , I've owned this trany for 2 months , my differentials are good , not lock...........hope it helps .

 

Not really.. Is it the used transmission from the same year? Same model?

 

Did it drive two months ago? Will it move in any other gear? Can you push the truck in neutral? Fluid burnt?
