Hi, I have a 2003 2500 4x4 Cummins 250hp with a 47RE gearbox that started to shift badly.
I took the oilpan down from the gearbox and found the part in the picture.


I think the easiest way would be to find a used 47RE but since I live in sweden its not so many to find here.
I know that I have the early version of 2003 and I found a gearbox from a 2001 V10 4x4, is this gearbox compatible electronically?

 

I will answer my own question after some resaerch
No the 47re from 2001 is not going to fit my 2003.
Why? The neutral safety switch is not the same, on the 2001 its 3 wires and on the 2003 its 5 wires.
There is an adapter to be able to put the old sensor in a newer transmission but not the other way around.

I have also found a 48re from a 2004 2500 Cummins and that has the correct connections so does anyone know if I can put that in my truck?
