Shifting out of overdrive

I just bought a 2004 dodge 1500 crew cab 4wd. 5.4 magnum. It has 170k and I'm having an issue with the transmission down shifting out of OD at times. I stop and turn off then start back up it stops doing to for a while sometimes the rest of the day. I've replaced the relay fuse and I had the transmissions check and he said it was a solenoid. I was wondering if the OD solenoid was and easy fix or should I have a transmission place fix it?

I suggest going to an independent trans shop and have them test drive it. They'll hookup their diag machine to your port and it'll let you know what's wrong, if anything. Won't cost anything. (at least mine didn't) Could be as simple as a trans service.

Went to a shop and they read a code of 2706. Was wondering if a service on trans would solve or would I go ahead and put in a new selinoid kit.
