It can't be coming through that bolt, right? Likely dripping from above?

Isn't that the water pump right above the leak?

It's actually the bottom bolt on the power steering pump. I'm thinking the water pump is leaking above it, but...

But.....??

Unless that bolt goes into a water jacket, it can't be that. I suspect the water pump as well.

Does it go into a water jacket? Because a new pump changed nothing.

The old pump had some play, and there was some seepage near that side of the pump however a fresh drip is forming on that bolt again.

It's probably the smallest hose above the pump. I'm not too familiar with the 3rd gens under the hood, but I was chasing a leak in my 01 and it was that small hose. It's about 6 inches long and not even an inch in diameter.

No small hose anymore. The only two hoses attached to it are for the heater core.

Just did my water pump too. Did you clean the gasket surface properly? Thats also directly below the upper hose and thermostat. Id get a mirror and check around there. Pin hole in the hose, bad gasket at the hose flange maybe.

Yes, gasket was cleaned properly.

The timing cover gasket is likely the culprit.
