Default 2008 Ram 1500- 180 Degree Stat upgrade

HI guy,

I may have a bad stat and need to replace it. I was think about going toa 180 degree stat vs. the factory one. My question is will doing this throw a check engine light and will I need to reprogram the ECU?

Hey Ramedhemi, I did a 180 stat on my 09 Hemi and did not have any issues with check engine lights.

If you live up north, it will affect the temperature of the heat. No going to see much performance gain.

my understanding...

a 160 is needed and a reprogrammer to see any performance gains.

If you want the engine to run cooler, and still keep good heat. Try Royal Purple's, Purple Ice.
