I have a 2005 dodge ram hemi with the regular heating/colling control unit with the built in mirror defrost. I was wondering if I bought a dual climate control module that fit my truck, would it simply be plug and play? Or is the wiring adapters different? I found one of the dual climate control units, but no wires. If the wires would be plug and play is there anything else that would have to be modified? Please let me know if you can help answer this question. I would love to have the dual climate controls as my wife and I have complete opposite thermostats.

 

Dude, what kind of project are you undertaking here??? You have asked every question under the sun about you new truck? Don't get me wrong here, I am all about finding answers here, but you really should try to finish one project before jumping into another. To be honest, you sound alot like me, which is kind of scary! I still wish you luck with all your questions..wish I could help...

I am just curious paintr2005, since you know what I have done so far, can you please ask me what project or question I have asked about that I have no actually finished or installed? I have purchased everything I have asked about. This might be the first thing that I may not complete. From what I have been told by several educated members in different forums this takes a lot of modifictation and it wouldnt be cost efficient.

 

naahhh, i'm just crackin' on you a bit, don't take offense to it, I just saw a few of your other posts, thought it reminded me of ME, and how I am always asking my mechanic (also best friend) all kinds of questions about mods for the truck, and he is always goofing on me about it. Glad to hear the forum helps you out. Its a great site. Now to what you have done, you say you put in the CAI? did you really feel a difference?

 

A little on the cold air intake. I have had 4 new trucks in the last 3 years. This year I bought a 2005 dodge ram quadcab 4x4 hemi in april, I put about 10,000 into it and decided to sell it to start over again. I sold it and bought an almost identical truck last month. I like to experiment on my trucks. The reason I have to ask so many questions is for several reasons, first off I am very **** and want things perfect, secondly where I live there are no specialists or performance shops for anything. You might find someone to install a 40 series flow, but that is all there is around here. I have added a CAI on all my trucks, I have had the AFE, Airaid with MIT, and I just put the AEM polished on my latest truck. To be honest, I just put the AEM on last night. It looks great. I actually didnt get to drive it as I finished late last night, and I am now up with my 2 year old son while mom sleeps in. So I will drive it later today. I am sure there will be some performance gains, but more than anything I like to do projects, I like the look of aftermarket parts. I dont race, run dyno's, or anything. My mods are for self satisfaction only. I will say that I have had the jet chips, hypertech III, and now the superchips flashpaq. The best mod I have ever single handedly put on is the flashpaq. It makes a world of difference on the shift firmness, being able to change the tire size for my 22's was also an extra benefit. But as for the CAI's, not huge gains, a different sound and looks are about all I can tell you will get for sure. Obviously they get more air than the stock, but dont expect any huge gains.

 

great reply, thanks for the input. I just picked up my 05 last week, and have been driving myself nuts looking to do something with it! I am **** as well when it comes to doing things the right way, the first time no matter what. So I completely understand where your comming from. I guess being from Boston, and have too many options can drive me nuts as well, but at least I have them. I am really thinking about the superchips. But a bit afraid about messing up my warranty. Also, does it make a difference what order I install my mods, such as superchips first, then exhaust, then CAI? or do I need to get the Superchips last? what do you think? Thanks

 

I asked about the order of installs as well on here. Everyone told me that it wont matter. I had the superchips first and they told me the computer will adjust for each mod, just uninstall the negative battery cable on each mod thereafter. As for warranty, if you have to take it into the shop just program it back to stock before you take it in. My guys here havent ever said anything about chips/programmers voiding my warranty, but that is also dealer specific. I have been told they can tell if you have had one on or not, but I cant answer that for sure. I live in central "country" Missouri. NO tech heads or special performance shops here, so I rely on the net for my information.
