Default 2004 Dodge ram 1500 wiper question

Dodge Ram 2004 QC 1500 with 85k miles.

Today here in Boston we got some snow over night I went out to get snow off front windshield and moved the wiper blades and noticed the passenger side wiper moved kind freely and the driver side was nice and firm no play.

Would anyone know what might cause this? The wipers work ok but the passenger side has the play in the arm. Its not moving on the knurled shaft it seems there might be some play in the linkage under the plastic cowl.
Would I need new linkage or maybe fix the one in there know. Any fix for this that someone might of done without having to pay for a new linkage.

Seems to cost about $150+ on ebay.

thanks

If you've stripped the knurled stud it connects to, not much choice but to replace it. You could always try drilling a hole through the entire assembly and fit a dowel or screw in it.

I stated the knurled is not slipping it seems to be the linkage, and I can't see under the cowling good enough to check out and see if it is the linkage. I will have to wait for some good weather, been quite cold and snow here in Boston.

Just wondering if someone had this problem and if there was a fix.

thanks

I think about 109 inches broke the all time snowiest winter here in Boston. Problem we got, this snow is all from January 24- end of February about 6 weeks. Plowed every storm some 3 times per storm for all my customers.
Well the first good day I get I have 4 new shocks to install and will check the Linkage by removing the plastic cowl and see exactly where the slop/play is coming from.
