Default Fan and Water Pump Removal tool

Saw some of the ridiculous prices on the spanner to remove the fan shaft from the water pump pulley. Here's a cheap alternative.
-Get a piece of 1" steel square tubing
-Drill 2 5/16" holes, 4"(I think) apart on the end
-Install 2 5/16" nuts about 2" long with washers
Should cost under 15 bucks from a hardware store and gives a ton of leverage.

You can do it even more simple than that. Take a screwdriver and go through the pulley and against the water pump and hold it while you have a pipewrench on the fans clutch and whack it with a dead blow hammer. Works every time.

Of course you can "rent" the tools from any autoparts store and take them back when you're done which in the end costs nothing at all.

to hold the pulley.. I use a craftsman rubber strap wrench.. and a loner wrench from Advance Auto Parts...

multiple solutions for problems.

With the belt on and air hammer with pointed bit works great.
But good thinking with that too.
