03 Ram 2500 Hemi Electric Throttle Control
Occasionally I get a problem with my 03 ram 2500 hemi. The ETC light (electric throttle control) comes on and blinks repeatedly. This usually happens when I do not let the engine warm up properly. During driving this also happens, it turns on and blinks repeatedly, and when I go to press the gas the truck bogs (moves forward and back), and drives really slow. Meanwhile my RPM gauge flutters like crazy between 2500-4000 RPM. Or it will randomly shut off in me on a stop light. The truck shows a code of P2106 which is a ETC malfunction. My question is: is there a way that I can clean and electronic throttle body, or does it have to replaced?
The brake cleaner could help. The Hemi likes regular throttle body cleanings. Make sure you remove the TB. Otherwise, you won't get a lot of the crude out. Removal is easy. I clean mine 'bout every 10K. You might as well clean/replace the PCV valve while you're at it.
