Default new here... need some help

hi im new here and to the whole truck scene. i plan on purchasing a 2002+ ram 1500 quad cab. I want the ram with the 20' wheels, and painted body (no chrome) i think that's called the sport, right? anyways, i was wondering how much would it be to convert a normal 1500 with chrome bumpers/grilles, smaller wheels, to the truck that i like? b/c im thinking if i can find a good deal and convert it myself to save some money or is it not worth it... thanks for the help guys

Get the truck you want the first time around, they are out there. Don't buy one that s close and give yourself a headache hunting factory parts that are used. The reason most people replace bumbers is because they hit something and bent them up. You would be facing an uphill frustrating battle IMO.

Agreed, the cost of the conversion will far out weight any "good" buy.

Go to http://www.dodgetalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=173

They will be more responsive to your needs. Most of the guys there have done what you intend to do. Just make sure you get a HEMI.
