Default Driver side brake light and reverse light not working

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd. I have checked the fuses and the lightbulb, but the drivers side lights will not work. Only the taillight does.

I would start by checking for voltage at the sockets. If you don't own a Volt Ohm Multimeter or tester, one of the many US local autoparts stores can check voltage for you. Sounds like bad sockets.

Yes I have checked the sockets and even bought new ones. Still didn't work.

Try Beech2000's recommendations again. Buying a new socket does not mean that you are getting power to the socket in question. Could be a bad wiring harness, corrosion at the connections, cut wire, etc. Check again with a multimeter or tester, and you will find the bad spot eventually if you work your way back to the battery. It could also be a bad Front Control Module (FCM) which is known to go bad and cause this exact issue sometimes.
