Default Gearbox Brake Band Adjustment ?......

Any advice ?
2003 Ram, 4.7 crew cab. just turned 77,000 miles.
I am gonna drop the gearbox oil pan and renew the filter. Workshop manual advises to adjust the bands with a torque wrench, 72lbs, then back off so many turns. This is recommended at 100,000 miles. Would I be advised to do it anyways, or just leave without adjusting anything ?
Should add here, gearbox is running fine with no problems.
All advice gratefully received ! Cheers in advance !

What transmission have you got bud?
A 45rfe or a 545rfe?
Either way the RFE refers to rear wheel drive application and full electronic controls.
Which means im pretty sure, that any adjustments are made by the electronics and the TCM and no bands are adjusted manually. There's no bands in these transmissions, only 6 clutch packs.
Someone will chip in to confirm.
Best thing you can do with either box is keep up on the ,aintenance with fluid and filter changes and run them.

No bands in that tranny. All clutches. Let me guess, it's a Haynes or Chilton's manual, right? Also, there are two filters: a flat filter (make sure you get the right one) and a spin-on.

I know on my Hemi 4x4 with the 545rfe transmission, there is a difference between the 2wd and 4x4 flat filters.
So be careful if you have a 4x4, as the flat filter is slightly larger with a longer pickup tube.
