I have an 06 dodge ram extended cab. I went to acces the compartment under the rear passenger side seat,and the seat will only lift a quarter of the way before it seems to be getting caught on something like a latch. Any suggestions.

 

Get a small flashlight and take a good look at the mechanism, probably sized up or binding on something.

 

Something jammed in the hinge, probably.

 

Inspect the linkages and hinges.

 

+1 on inspect linkage and hinges. They rust and can get dirt and grime stuck in them. You can use a flat head screwdriver to move/spin the hinge mechanism on the side of the seat while you put a little force on it. Also not a bad to clean it and lube it up.
