Does anyone know how to disable the auto lock feature on a SLT Quad cab 05. I don't want the doors to lock unless I lock them. They currently lock when speed of the truck goes over 15 MPH. I tried the off on x4 with the ignition switch then lock without success. I know there has to be a way but it is not listed in the owners manual that I can find.

You dates must get nervous as you pull away from the curb and then "lock" them is huh?

 

Why bother? I think it is a good safety feature. All you have to do is pull the door handle when you exit, it unlocks it automatically.

 

I hate when things are done automatically for me. Lights, Door locks, ....

If you are able to disable the seatbelt alarm, there is probably a way to change the door locks.

 

my dad owns a dodge dealer and i had one of the techs change mine so they would only lock when i wanted them to, he did it with the scanner though, so i think you may have to take it to your dealer.....

 

I'm with you guys, I also want to be in control of the little stuff. Maybe when I have kids that will change but for know I can handle locking my own doors. The automatic headlight/domelight/cargo light kill switch is pretty nice when you leave your lights on however.

 

Try this

1. Close all of the doors
2. Place the key in the ignition and cycle the key from OFF to ON for a total of 4 times ending in the ON position. Do not start the engine.
3. Press the drivers side power door lock switch to lock the doors within 30 seconds.
4. You will hear a single chime when programming is completed and the automatic door locks feature will be deactivated.
5. To enable the feature again, follow the above steps again.

 

Its in the manual how to disable it,i remember reading it a few months ago,
