I searched and came up with a lot of threads on replacing ball joints but none specific for an 06 1500 4wd hemi. Some threads said you couldn't replace just the upper bj but that you had to replace the whole arm. Does anyone know of a good day write up or maybe a video that shows how it's done? I have the press kit and the parts, just can't figure how to get things to drop apart for me to start the pressing process.
Not sure how it is on your '06, but on my '03 the uppers and the control arm are one piece, you just replace the whole thing. Hopefully it's the same with yours, as it makes the effort much less frustrating.
YouTube is your friend. I know the suspension changed just a bit between the '05 and the '06, but I believe the ball joints and control arms are still the same.
Yeah at some point you could only get them with the arm (I've seen posts from back in 09 that said it) but now you can buy just the ball joint. I was looking on youtube but no one has a video specifically for the 06 and it would see that the 06 is different which is why I turned here. Had hoped maybe someone had a good write up on a DIY.
This place has been kind of quiet the last year or so. Hopefully you can get a good answer for what you are looking for. I know when I had to do my ball joints on the '05, it was all one piece. But, if you've seen it, then it must certainly be different, and I have nothing else that would be useful advice. Sorry, man.
