Default Axle nut size 2500

Anyone know offhand the size of the axle nut on a 2006 2500 4x4? I'm replacing the axle shaft on my front end, and althogh I've had it apart before, I've always borrowed my buddy's socket. I don't want to bug him again, and I figured I'd pick one up from Harbor Freight. I think it's metric, but I think his was 1 1/8 and it worked just fine. I just want to be sure.

I don't know why there would be cheap chrome sheeting over the axle nut. With the cotter pin and all!!! You must be thinking of the lug nuts!!! I'm talking the nut that fastens to the axle!!

Its bigger than 1 1/8. I think it was 1 11/16 or close to that size. I have a 3/4 inch socket set which comes in handy for this type of work.
