Question 2006 Dodge Infinity Stereo on Ram 1500

I have experienced a problem with my stereo in my truck. I was driving along and the stereo stopped working or putting out sound. The problem was intermittant at first working and then not working for a month. What I have noticed is when it stopped working it appears that the volume where is shows the level is stuck on the bottom and will not move to increase the bottom. I took all the covers off and checked the wiring and all seems to be OK. I cannot turn volume up from the face of Stereo or the Steering wheel controls. I need some advice.

I was going to change the stereo out but not sure what may be wrong. Looking on line I have seen a lot of issues related to changing out an Infinity to another system. Is there a way to get a book on the system?

Owners manual, but, that is just going to be operational, not nuts and bolts.... Infinity system has pre-amp outputs, and the amplifiers are near the speakers. Keep that in mind when shopping for a new head unit, or, you can bypass the amps, and install your own.
