Default New to a 5.7 hemi

Just Picked up a 2004 ram 2500 heavy duty with 5.7 litre Hemi, couple issues im trying to sort out,, one is sluggish throttle response ,,only revs to 3200 -3800 and starts sputtering have no bottom end power at all, run my MAC ET 129 scanner on it and come up with NO Codes at all, changed all th eplugs all 16 seemed to smooth out a lil bit, bit still rough idle and no trhrottle response . I thought i would start here with the the knowledge base that is here, This is my first hemi and i bought it for the misses as it was supposed to be an upgrade, lol yeah yeah i know im a cheap bugger,, but i dont mind something to fix up. the price was right and its in pretty good shape other wise. so if we can get this engine sorted out id be extremely grateful. WOT gives me about 3200- 3800 with sputter at the WOT stage and rough idle about 720 rpm stomp on it and its sluggish to get there as well, i thought maybe bad air flow as it was what it sounded like,, brand new air filter ,,, no restrictions there, Any Ideas Guys?

Do NOT use carb cleaner! Use non-chlorinated brake cleaner and don't get it in the motor on the throttle body. Yes, you have to remove the TB to properly clean it. You'll find a fair amount of crud on the back side of the butterfly valve.

ok did so,, wasnt real dirty at all, cleaned the air flow sensor as well, the blue element, started it, seemed to pick up a lil bit but reverted back to previous condition after a short drive,, i think there maybe some tranny issues as well,,i do have another one of those on hand. isnt there a module on the transmision that is a throttle limiter as well?

2004 the engine and transmission modules are both located within the PCM on the passenger side firewall.
02 to late 03 had the Separate controllers.
As for your issue......without fault codes it will be difficult, but not impossible.
Good old fashioned skills come into play
Such as, is there a vacuum leak ?
Any strange sounds/knocking etc.
fuel pressure.
The list goes on and others will chime in Im sure.
