So New truck to me…..but twice the truck has stalled out coming to an abrupt stop to turn into a driveway. Turned the key and it started up/, BUT NOW I came out of Costco and noticed the smart key did not work to open doors so I opened manually. Truck would not start. Would not turn over. Like nothing but dash board lights etc. Headlights strong….not a dead battery issue.
Finally disconnected battery and waited 10 minutes. Smart key works and truck starts right up. That was a week ago. This morning truck starts up and dies after about 3 sec of running. Stepping on gas pedal won't make it stay running. So I wait 3 hours and went out there and she started right up.
Any ideas appreciated….jd

 

It must be electrical problem but I don't know. Computer?

 

Do a search I believe there is a TSB, that covers this.

 

Hey P38….thanks for the info. I found the TSB and will pursue that possibility. One thing I did not mention was that the same morning I had a new smart key made and programmed with my "secret" pin number that I was able to talk a the dealer into giving me. I am have been thinking this is related to this issue??
