Default Wheel spacers. Any suggestions?

My truck's a pretty simple one - a '03 4.7L V8 4X4.

I recently leveled it using torsion bar keys (the only option for this truck), and once the job was done it became instantly clear that some wheel spacers would round out the tuning quite nicely - then I'm not gonna change anything else!

But I'm pretty green and really need some guidance about which spacers to go with - and even more importantly what kind NOT to use!

Can any of you guys our there help? Thanks so much for any ideas.

Cheers

If you're running stock wheels you shouldn't need them. IMO I would not use them.

I do not like spacers. I have used them on a car once and had wheel studs break off.

Wow! That's some pretty negative feedback! I wasn't expecting that but I'm glad I asked. Thanks fellas!

I've run 1.5" adapters for years and my truck is beat to hell off road. Never had any problems.

My dad has 2" adapters on his 2012 Cummins, no problems

Multiple buddies running 1, 1.5 and 2" adapters. No problems

I don't have any to recommend but I've read that the main thing to make sure when running them is to check them often and retighten when necessary. This means taking the time to remove the wheels from the spacers and check to make sure the spacers are still tight on the hubs. Now, once you've done that several times over only to discover they aren't loosening up on you, you could maybe just check them when rotating the tires.

All that said, I have read many negative experiences and some that say they've had no issues. Doesn't take as many negative comments to get me to stay away from something as it does positive comments to steer towards something. I'd prefer to swap the wheels out with aftermarket ones that have the offset/backspacing that you want to begin with.

As I've said I've never run into problems with these. Actually, Early on I stripped one of the inner nuts on my lug. My driver's left side has been running 4 lugs for over 2 years now. Still beat the **** out of her with no problems

If you do go with spacers look for hub centric spacer and not the cheap one on ebay. They have a ring on them that will center the rim properly on them. Been using for over a year and no problems.

That's a pretty good suggestion actually. Thanks!
