Default Camshaft upgrade for 4.7

I couldn't find much about upgrading the cams in a 4.7, if anyone can give me advice on what i should look for or even doing it. I was told that 2008 dodge rams 4.7 have better cams and go with them, but like everyone else I want a nice tone too.

2002 HO camshafts and short runner intake manifold combo straight from Mopar is tough to beat. 15% HP and Torque increase from stock.

Cam part numbers 53021411AB and 53021412AB. Intake manifold is 53031739AC...

much like the rear door wire harnes from the body to the door....the prices on those cams have increased 10-fold, like HemiLonestar stated, if you can find them.

Probably gonna have to hit the auto-recycler and see if you can salvage a set.

Almost makes me wish I still had my old '02 Grand Cherokee Overland. Straight from the factory with the HO cams and manifold (and larger injectors, domed pistons, forged crank, etc., etc.)...

Those Cams are no longer available, but the intake, whats the difference b/w the one your showing, and the one that comes on the 4.7s from factory ?

Short runner design dyno numbers on the '02 HO intake manifold alone shows about 15 HP AT THE REAL WHEELS over the pre '08 4.7 manifold.

I've always been told by the real 4.7 power adder guys Marty Fletcher (formerly of KRC Performance) and Nick Dambrosia (Air Ram) that you needed to do the HO intake to get the most out of the HO cams.

A lot of info in the HO 4.7 section at WJJEEPS.COM, I got a lot out of it when I was maintaining and looking for more when I had my 4.7 HO.

Last I knew, Nick was still the best source for 4.7 mods (tell him Hammer from DF said Hey). Also a LOT more 4.7 mod info in the Dakota section of this forum. Lots of 4.7 Daks, most full size 3rd Gen Rams have the Hemi...

Oh yeah I've been dealing with Nick for couple weeks now just ordered headers from him, and he sells the 08 4.7 Intake with TB adapter, and that it would be a big gain but its quite pricey, do you know the difference? Or is the intake you mentioned only necessary with HO cams?

From what I've read the 08+ intake is comparable if not better; it will complement the cams.
