2004 ram hemi low speed acceleration
Quick google search yields a quite surprising number of people claiming that adding a cable to connect the TB housing directly to ground will increase engine response. And, probably about an equal number of naysayers. Supposedly the TB is floating, I'm tempted to take my DMM and verify that fact.
Aren't all the sensors and such on the TB independently grounded in any event??
I haven't bothered to remove the plastic cover yet, but just noticed the first sticky at the top of the DIY section is all about grounding the TB.... duh.

I am very much interested in what you did when grounding the throttle body and what it fixed. I ask because I have a 2000 Durango 4.7L engine with a high starting RPM under conditions of Ambient Cold Temps. The RPM goes to 2100 RPM and reduces to 1400 RPM for about 5 Minutes before reducing to 650 RPM. Again, this condition is ONLY during Cold Ambient Conditions.

I bought this 2004 ram new, hemi, 160,000 miles. I have noticed a decrease in acceleration when the rpms are low. When I get it going a little faster, then it just takes off with all kinds of acceleration. Now, I have put hi test fuel in, fuel injector cleaner with no luck. I am thinking that it may be an electrical problem. Last week, the truck would turn over, but not start. (fuel pump wasn't coming on). I moved the fuses and relays under the hood and the truck started. In limp mode. I drove it home, no high gear, no low gear. I reset the computer, (had several codes about transmission), and it seems fine now. I have an intermittant problem with the heater motor not turning on, until I hit a bump, then it seems fine. I also cleaned the positive battery terminal on the fuse box under the hood. After all of this, I still have the decrease in acceleration, at low rpms, most of the time. Maybe the throttle body needs cleaned out, but after all of the electrical problems, which seem to come from the fuse panel under the hood, I am wondering if it may be electrical. Any Ideas??? I'm in Ohio, lots of salt.
That wasn't the case for me at all. I was getting Errors for Transmission High Angle Shift, Oil Pressure Sensor Circuit and Knock Sensor Circuit. I replaced one thing at a time and it seemed to work temporarily then I noticed all those things are on the same harness! Sure enough a little more inspecting and the wires were touching a spot by the oil filter and we're melted together causing a short! You couldn't really tell by just looking at it but after taking off some wire wrap and unplugging harness from all those sensors, I found that spots on about a 5" length of wire were melted together! Isolated burnt bare wire and rewrapped it thoroughly. I notice a little bit of a power increase and runs better too! The harness was routed wrong in between the oil filter and the oil pan from whomever previously worked on it. Routed outside and every single code is now gone and truck runs perfectly.
I have an 02 1500 but with the 3.7 that has electrical problems like you’ve mentioned. My passenger side low beam won’t work half the time but high beam will. I can open my fuse box under the hood and push down in a certain area and it will work for a few days. I’ve also experienced the decrease in speed like you mentioned but can’t figure it out
