Default Bad motor or tranny

New to dodge. Motor is 5.7l hemi. Has 126000 miles. Front crank seal went bad. Had it replaced and now engine ticks. You can only hear in in both fender wells and underneath. Goes faster as you rev it. I've researched and researched and couldn't find anything except rod bearings which is a ridiculous amount of labor cost. Is it something to worry about or keep trucking along?

id dump 2 cans sea foam in the engine oil an let it run for a normal oil change how ever many miles you normally go an see if the tick goes away... my tick comes an goes every few oil changes I just add a can of sea foam, drive for 3000 miles an drain. Seems to have become lesser over this past year.

ticks are better then taps in my book

I've also heard it could be an exhaust manifold leak. Any idea how I can tell if that's what it is?

Check passenger exhaust manifold bolts. Usually the back two. The tick, if its not exhaust manifold bolts. Sounds like the Hemi tick. They all do it, some louder than others.

Thanks hoss. With the hemi tick, would it just start doing it randomly? Never did it til I got that front crank seal changed but then again it may not have been as loud then. I'm gonna have manifold gaskets and bolts replaced but can't decide whether to get new manifolds or shorty headers. Can't find a square port header so will probably just go with manifolds.

Exhaust leaks usually shut up once the motor's warmed up. Pretty sure I wouldn't dump two cans of Sea Foam in. The prescribed amount is ~5 ounces.
