Its possible you may need to replace the springs. They are not designed to be straight. You won't know until you put them back.

 

its easy job too just time consuming, mine was lower when I bought just like this & the bushings in the leafs were shot so I had to hammer out the old an press in new ones that part took the most time. good time to change your diff lube while you're under there
