if its a new compressor it should come with a tag that describes the oil balancing procedure.
if its a used compressor I would add 1 oz to the comp.

did your old compressor have a catastrophic failure?

Sadly none of the stickers give any indication. Instructions only state how to add. Not how much. Came with 6 Oz of shipping oil in it. Says to dump that out and put half of the required amount back in the compressor. Downloaded the owners manual for truck also. Doesn't tell either. Called napa where I bought it. They couldn't tell me either. Went to the website for the compressor I bought. Also nothing. Quite frustrating! Will not know how bad it failed until I get the orafice tube out. And check the filter

if there is any sign of metal in the o/t, replace the accumulator also and try to blow out the suction line from the accumulator to compressor.

I used to work for gm. they have a mesh screen that you install on the compressor inlet bore on the compressor. this stops any of the old debris wrecking your new compressor.

I see if I can find some info for oil balancing for you. did your new compressor come filled or dry?

Default AC blowing ice cold again

Finally got it all back together. New accumulator, compressor, orafice tube, flushed out everything with cleaning solvent and new seals all around. Put it on a deep vacume for an hour. My research came up with 6.2 Oz. For my model compressor.
working perfect. Nice and cold.
