Ever since I purchased the Predator tuner U7137 for my 05 ram 1500, I have been less than thrilled with it and since I was never able to modify the transmission shifting I am wondering if its worth keeping the program in use?

Since I dont have update cables to attach the unit to my computer for version updates, I am running version 9R06 per the sticker on the box.

Btw, one annoyance I have experienced for years while using this is a surge in power between a few hundred rpm as I would moderately accelerate up to 60mph. Sometimes it was 2400 to 2600 rpm other times 2700 to 2900 rpm but before and after the couple hundred rpm range it would accelerate at a similar rate, only in the narrow band would it feel like I stepped on the gas more. Any idea What is going on?

 

You should still be getting the added HP and MPG from the tuner, so If you are not getting a tuner that will control your trans, I would leave it tuned.

 

If you didn't custom tune it for extensive modifications then you should've gone with a Superchips. Decent tuning and trans control.
