Rust in rear wheel wells

Rear wheel wells are rusting out on my 03 Ram...took it to the dealer asking about any recalls....any body else having this problem? Saw other trucks with the same problem...Thanks

Unless you want to pay an arm and two legs, fender flares. I cut out the rust and used POR15 on all bare metal before installing flares.

Search around here, it is probably the most common complaint about these trucks. Not much you can do cheaply, unfortunately. Flares are your best option aside from cutting it out.

It's not just these trucks or even trucks. I spent twenty six years of my life in a northern "salt" state fighting rust in tire wells, rocker panels and bumpers in every vehicle I had...

Oil spray people.
Here's the proof. My 2003 Ram and 1989 Oldsmobile. Both salt blasted thru the years.

join the club my trucks an 03 and I got it too im buying fender flares to hide it .Not worth fixing it to much money.

big guy hat type of oil spray do you use and where do you spray it?very interesting.

My 03 is rust free as well....after many winters with salted roads. Oiled yearly as well as full rear wheel liners installed when new.
I r & r these every time I have truck Oil undercoated.
