Always use MATH to calculate your MPG. The overhead is a running average to help the driver develop throttle habits that save fuel...nothing more.

Forget filling to the "same line", fill it full, drive it and fill it full again. Miles/gallons (make sure you compensate for odometer error). That's the only way to accurately calculate the mileage.

Yep, whenever I test fuel economy I fill and use the two click rule...
