Default 2006 Quad Cab - Strut Coils - How old is too old?

Just curious if anyone has any advice/experience with replacing the strut coils just because they get old and have probably lost a bit of their spring tension?

At 10 years of age and 145K, and if you are doing struts is it time to replace the coils too, or should we not worry about it and just keep re-using them? This would be for a truck that has not lived it's life plowing parking lots, etc...

Just wondering what the service life on these things are and if once should consider replacing.

Is there some way one would measure them and verify the stats against some sort of benchmark that tells you when its time?

Yeah, I've decided to just re-use them. Using that Autozone spring compressor loaner tool was the scariest thing I've ever done. Glad that is over.

I bought this style compressor a few years ago since I always service the struts on my vehicles. This is much safer than using the twin clamps.
