2003 V10 with a G56?
I want to bolt a manual tranny behind my V10. I LOVE rowing through the gears, I tow often, and manuals are more efficient than autos. I have heard (and read) great things about the Mercedes G56 transmission that they bolt behind 2005 and up trucks with either the 5.9 or 6.7 Cummins, the only bad thing being that the case can flex under high output engines. My V10 has a low ceiling, though, so I should be fine there. My question is: do the V10, 5.9, and 6.7 share the same bellhousing pattern?
BTW, I know I need a clutch pedal, master and slave clutch cylinder, flywheel, clutch, programmer, driveshaft mods, etc.

I can confirm that the clutch and the bellhousing is the same for the 5.9 Cummins and the V10 for 2003. The 6.7 used a different clutch assembly but I am no help on the G56 transmission. Hope this help and glad to see somebody else in the 3rd Gen V10 club.
Awesome. I will do more research to make sure the G56 was offered behind a 5.9 Cummins. This is something I am serious about, as I pursue this I will either continue this thread or start a new one showing my progress!
Okay, I've researched and found that the G56 was offered behind both the 5.9 and 6.7 Cummins Diesel. Here is where I need my swap buddies to chime in. First, I'm new to third generation Dodges. My research implies that the brake pedal is the same, whether a manual or automatic. So, how do you add a clutch pedal?
