Default Steering Wheel Off-Center

2008 1500 4x4 5.7 Hemi.

Not sure if either of these would have caused this-I did a power steering flush about a month ago. Last week the dealership did a recall and replaced the driver's side airbag inflator. Now the steering wheel is off center when going straight down the road. It sits at about 11 o'clock. I don't think it was like this after the flush but I'm not 100% sure. Do they remove the steering wheel when they do the inflator or do anything that may have affected the centering?

Thoughts? Thanks!

Sounds like you need to take it back to the dealer.

If it wasn't like that before your dealer did the recall and now it is, then definitely take it back.

I'm with the rest on taking it back, too. Also, check your horn. Reports of easy accidental damage there when doing the fix.

On my 2003 the steering wheel only goes on 1 way. So it would be impossible for the dealer to screw it up. Maybe the 2008 if different?

I know how to straighten the steering wheel on a Jeep (and have done so many times). Don't know how on the IFS vehicles, though.

Had to do this on my Charger not long ago. Quarter to half a turn (matching) on each tie rod end until the wheel is straight.

Not a chance in hell that you're steering off-center is caused by an airbag recall. The airbag has 2 bolts in the back and the steering wheel doesn't get moved at all.

That is...unless some stupid idiot worked on your car. But the chances are still slim.

Did they do any front suspension recalls??

I believe the problem is from a recent alignment...I am guessing when they aligned it they set the wheels to be straight while the steering wheel was just a bit off-center.
