Slowdog, I found some high density foam on ebay $18.00 1x24x72 which I think will work great. Actually someone else had use high density foan and it worked. Im planning to order it and doing my seat. I went to HobbyLobby and felt their foam and it wasn't anything special. Hope this helps

Hey 66,
What model is your 06 Mega Cab, was it already a Laramie leather seat before you installed the Richmond leather and does it have the six-way power seat?

A-1 told me that the upgrade foam cushion would not work on my 07 Quad Cab SLT with the power seat....I wonder what is the difference between my stock seat and yours?? Although I have already gone into my seat and beefed it up with some stiff foam I would still like to have a superior cushion.

You guys that have replaced your foam...like a good little boy I disconnected my negative battery cable to avoid air bag deployment issues. Now that I have re-installed my seat and reconnected the battery my CD player will not work...I have the 6-CD radio with MP-3....I can hear the CD player cycling but the radio does not recognize the CD player (when I hit "mode" I only get the satellite radio, no CD)....I am also going to post this as a new thread but I thought you that have done this seat mod might have an idea... Thanks!

Apparently, disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it can kill the radio due to a voltage spike or loss of data in the computer chips. The Shop Manuals and the DIY forum posts do not mention that problem....but it has happened to many folk. From my reading all cars since 2003 can be effected by doing this.... I bought one of those "computer settings keeper" this week. It keeps a small voltage in the system while your battery is disconnected which saves all of your data...however, if it is a voltage spike that kills the radio then I do not see how this little gadget will help. I think that in the future the battery will remain connected, if at all possible!!

Thanks again for the advice.

Interesting. Wonder if that's what killed my stocker. When I got my truck back after about a year away, the battery was beyond dead. Started right back up with a new battery, but the radio was toast.

Yes, it is the Laramie. I don't know what the difference would be. I can tell you that the cushion they sent me was missing some important Velcro pieces that were glued to the original cushion. These hold the leather cover pleats in place. I had to remove them from my original, and hot glue them to the A-1 cushion.

I wish that I was good at retro-fitting things...so that I could locate some comfortable seats to replace these Ram seats...although I added foam I am still not happy with the seat.... Before I purchased my 2007 Ram I drove a 2003 (with cloth seats) that a friend owned and I swear that it was more compfortable than mine....and I think that I have read that at some point Dodge put smaller seats in the Ram. I also drove a few 2007-2008 F150's and they were also more comfortable....especially the Lariat that I drove.... My Son in Law drives an Escalade pickup and WOW! Surely I could get them to fit...I would just have to bury him somewhere first....
