Default Is high RPM's normal with 4.56 gearing?

Sorry I know this may seem like such a newb question, but is around 2500-3000 rpms normal with 4.56 gearing? I just recently got my truck and wanna make sure. I have a 2002 Dodge ram 1500 quad cab 4x4. Thanks in advance guys!

Depends on the speed, but at all speeds, your RPM will be much greater. Prepare for higher fuel consumption and enjoy the extra jump.

The taller the tire, the fewer RPM at a given ground speed because the effective ratio isn't the same anymore. Mine turns 1,980 at 80 mph (3.55s with 32.7" tires).

Better/harder launch with 4.56's due to better mechanical advantage (leverage).

What engine do you have (so I know what trans)? Many people have said that 3.55's (except in the newer trucks with the 8 speed) the truck was a dog going down the road and towing. 3.92 seems to be the best all around ratio.
