sure but it does not allow me to get it out of Parking. This has been happening for a while and after a few trials it usually worked but now it does not want to move from P.

Probably just an issue with the brake safety switch system (brake has to be applied before it allows you to shift from park).

The first thing I would check is to see if your brake lights are working. If they're not it's probably the brake light switch located behind the pedal which controls your brake lights but also sends a signal to the shift interlock solenoid that releases the gear shifter. That shift interlock solenoid could also be bad. I would also check for any loose wires or connections below the driver's side dash before buying any replacement parts.

Any updates over the past couple days, DavyCaz?

I would recommend having a FCA dealership diagnose this for you. If you would like assistance scheduling an appointment, please feel free to reach out to me.

I'm having a similar problem...but pressing the brake pedal and shifting from park to anything else is affected by colder temperatures only...works fine in warmer times...winter again this week reminds me of the problem. more brake pumping and repeated attempts over a minute or so enables it to shift normally...any suggestions on where/what to start on?..which component may be more affected with this temperature change?... Thanks in advance

edit...04 ram hemi (with a/c lol), brakes work fine,
edit...ahh...reading about btsi now
