Default trans service refill

I changed the trans fluid, 1st vacuum most out and it seems like more was drawn out than the normal 5.5 qts is this possible? Im at 5.5 qts and need to add more I ran it got it up to temp but was wondering if the pumping pumped out little more than the 5.5 it would take.

Thanks

Not uncommon to take a little more. Qt is not a true qt.

5-7 is about normal. Especially if you did the filter.

Are you vacuuming it out or dropping the pan?

Actually I was did both, but it seemed that we vacuumed little more than I thought. vacuumed it 1st, then dropped the pan, However, 7 qts did it. That was a little task I might add. due to that exhaust being in the way, we had planned to just go with the gasket, that didn't work it kept falling off. then we thought maybe use some string around a few holes, but then we decided to go with RTV. with cleaning the pan it took us 2 hrs we were meticulous about the pan surface being really clean.
