Key Fob with Remote Start for 07 Ram
I apologize, I think that I mistakenly posted this question on the Non-Tech section so I moved it to here....
I only have one key fob that one will not work unless I place a new battery in it and then it will only work for a day or two...therefore I need new key fobs....however, I am having difficulty finding a replacement key fob that has the remote start button (I will do without the key fob before I will pay Stealer prices!).
Therefore, I have three questions.... First, has anyone been able to find an aftermarket source for a replacement key fob that includes the remote start button (most four button fobs use the fourth button to open a hatchback)? I have checked with most of the retailers on Amazon and Ebay and none of them seem to stock the correct remote....and...some of them state that I must have a fob with the same button layout...thus my problem.
Second...has anyone seen an aftermarket fob that is separate from the key....like fobs used to be? If I could buy such a fob (that I could program from my good key fob) then I could simply place the separate fob (with no key) on my key chain to open the doors....
Third...I never use the Remote Start...have any of you purchased a three button key fob that will work on a truck equipped with the four button fob? One retailer told me that he thought it would work, another said that it would not work...??? I am getting all kinds of conflicting information from the retailers. If I could get a 3-button fob that will program with my current 4-button fob to open and lock the doors I would be a very happy camper!!
Thanks!

Would help if you could post a picture of the remote and post here.
If its a factory remote your out of luck to reprogram as you would need 2 good working remotes to program the 3rd new remote. Just post the picture of current remote and someone will be able to help.

Well that is a factory remote and you would need 2 working remotes to program a third.
If only one than you have to buy another one and have the dealer program or have a locksmith reprogram the new remote.
Buy the key fobs on ebay and have a locksmith do it much cheaper, he can cut key and reprogram the keyfobs. Might want to get 2 and have both done at same time.
How do you activate the auto start with that remote if you do use the auto start?
I have one in my 2005 Jeep and I hit the lock button 2 times and it starts 2 times and it stops.

HemiLonestar...where did you find that switchblade remote?? I like that!! My remote start works fine, I hit the button twice and it runs until I hit it again or place the key into the ignition (I think that is the way it works...to be honest I have not used the remote start in over two years....).
I have searched Ebay and Amazon for a key fob like mine....so far no luck. I found a couple that looked like mine (same buttons and remote start) but different part numbers and when I contacted the retailers they told me the fobs that they had to sell would not work for me. So, I am still looking...I am just too cheap (or wise) to pay the prices that the dealer wants for these.... Surely, eventually, I will find a cheaper one. And I was told by one key retailer that there are key fobs that should work just to open and lock the doors that do not have the key in them....just the fob....no key....like key fobs used to be....but he did not sell them.
I have one working key fob (well, it will work fine for one day with a new battery then it dies...some short I guess) and I have one of those grey transponder "second" keys.... Will that allow me to self-program??? I was able to self-program the transponder key from the single fob (when I bought the truck there was only one key fob so I bought transponder key, had the key cut and then self-programmed it...)
Thanks!

Thanks, Your link would not work (on my browser I saw that the two "t"'s were missing from http in your link but that did not correct it....) anyway, I was able to pull the Ebay Item number (291671537154) from your link and found the fobs that you referred to (I guess). I have contacted the seller to verify whether or not those will work for me....I hope that they will. Thanks very much for the link!!

Ebay, I have the advantage (maybe?) of not having factory remote start nor SKIM module on the truck so it was easy. I didn't have factory remote start on the Charger when I got it (added the factory kit later) but the later keys like yours have the chip in the electronic guts of the key. If you can't find a specific one, you might be able to get one for your year and modify the button holes to fit yours.
