Strange Electrical issues
Hi guys, 1st post. I have a new to me 2003 Ram 3500 6 spd Cummins SRW.
I have a couple electrical issues - I've been trying to work my way the bodybuilder electrical diagram but i'm not getting anywhere.
The Radio doesn't work. I checked the harness at the radio - the 2 'hot' wires (pink) which should always have 12v do not. I checked the fuse at the ICM and it's fine (and has 12v)
Next issue is that the blower isn't working. I've checked the power at the blower and the resistor and there is none. Checked the fuse and it's also ok (and has 12v)
The upper cig lighter also isn't working. Haven't really gotten into that one.
The last clue is that my dash lights are mostly burnt. They were fine, but i only have 1 or 2 left after removing the cluster to check wiring.
Have any of you guys seen this issue?
Thanks

When my blower went, it took out the fan speed resistor, or vice versa, and also burnt the wire end and switch in the steering column. I had to take my column apart, replace the switch that connects with the key switch, and run a new wire from there to the blower resistor. This didn't take out dash lights, I'm assuming yours are just burnt out as mine are starting to, also an '03, but your upper cigar lighter, radio, and hvac all get power from that switch. make sure that switch is aligned correctly, or you may lose your ACC power, but everything will work in RUN position.
