I got my '05 1500 with about 600k on it. Needles to say, a rebuild is due. Plans are a 392 stroker and instead of building the 545, I want to swap in a G-56.
Anybody here done it or heard about it? How common or uncommon are the 6 speed hemi's? Lastly, anybody got any tips for me on swapping it in?

Positive note, the parts required are all factory. Down side, you have to flash the PCM or swap in a stick shift 2500 PCM so that the engine will function without trans inputs.

 

The real tricky part is finding the parts. I did some searching around, there's a tuner out there that will flash the pcm and program it for the manual and will delete the gear selector lights. It works for the Cummins, not so sure if it'll work the same for the Hemi... I don't see why not though
